Author Biography

Ophélie Queffurus, Université du Québec À Montréal Université Rennes 2

Ophélie Queffurus is a French visual artist based in Montreal (Canada). She is currently pursuing a Ph.D in Visual Arts at UQAM (Montreal, Canada) and the University of Rennes 2 (Rennes, France). Her work focuses on the intersection of art and biology. Her recent production mixing traditional and wet media presents the results of her wanderings in the field of microbiology. Since 2014 her work features a single-cell organism called Physarum Polycephalum that she integrates into different artistic installations. She has shown and presented her work and research at various events (symposia, seminars, conferences, exhibitions) across Canada and France. Ophélie Queffurus was also a lecturer at the university of Rennes 2 prior to moving to Canada. www.opheliequeffurus.com
