Author Biography

Antonia Mehnert, PhD Student of the Rachel Carson PhD Program "Environment and Society" at the University of Munich (American Studies Department)

Antonia Mehnert studied American Studies, Latin-American studies and Economics at the University of Potsdam and the Free University Berlin. During this time she also completed a semester at the University of Seville, Spain and spent several months in the United States and Argentina for various internships in the cultural-political sector. After her graduation she worked as a project coordinator in the context of  “culture and development”. In January 2011 she started working on her dissertation, first in Potsdam, and has now moved to Munich in order to participate in the structured doctoral program "Environment and Society" at the Rachel Carson Center. For her dissertation project, entitled “Literary Imaginaries of Climate Change” she receives a scholarship from the Foundation of German Business.
