Author Biography

Connor M Pitetti, Philips Universität Marburg

Connor Pitetti is a visiting scholar of American literature at Philipps-Universität Marburg. His research interests include narrative theory, urban studies, science fiction, and the environmental humanities. He is currently working on a monograph based on his dissertation, “The City at the End of the World: Eschatology and Ecology in Twentieth-Century Science Fiction and Architecture.” This project focuses on the use of apocalyptic narrative patterns in fictional and nonfictional accounts of the future of modern cities, and seeks to theorize the impact that different kinds of stories about the end of the world have on understandings of ecology and on environmental politics. He has articles forthcoming on the architectural writings of H.P. Lovecraft and on apocalyptic and postapocalyptic narration in contemporary science fiction.
