Author Biography

Jacob Abell, Baylor University

Jacob Abell is an Assistant Professor of French in the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures at Baylor University. His research primarily focuses on the intersections of religious cultures, ecocritical themes, and rhetoric in medieval French poetry and biblical translations. With support from the National Endowment for the Humanities and Causeway Studios, Abell and collaborator Lynn Ramey (Vanderbilt) recently completed Brendan’s Voyage, a video game prototype designed to teach the spoken and written basics of Anglo-Norman French. Abell has also published work on Dante, Aimé Césaire, and the environmental humanities.
