Author Biography

José Manuel Marrero Henríquez, Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria

José Manuel Marrero Henríquez is the author of Documentación y lirismo en la narrativa de Ignacio Aldecoa (1997) and of a number of essays on Spanish and Spanish American Literature, genre conventions, and ethics and criticism. His current research interests include ecocriticism, the works of Francisco González Díaz, the literary representation of landscape, and the impact of tourism and environmental policies on literary landscapes. He has recently edited Lecturas del paisaje (2009) and Literatura y sostenibilidad en la era del antropoceno (2011), and his most recent article “Literary Waters in a Dry Spain” is about to be published (ISLE). As a creative writer, he is the author of Por venir de la nada (1995) and other short stories, and he has recently published the collection of poems entitled Reversos ejemplares (2011). José Manuel Marrero Henríquez is Professor of Literary Theory and Criticism at the Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
