Author Biography

Julia Kuznetski (née Tofantšuk), Tallinn University, School of Humanities

Julia Kuznetski (Tofantšuk) is a Professor of English at the School of Humanities, Tallinn University, Estonia. Her reserarch interests include present-day Anglophone literature and culture, gender studies, ecocriticism, ecofeminism, diaspora and migration literature. Her publications include a co-edited volume (with Silvia Pellicer-Ortín) titled Women on the Move: Body, Memory and Femininity in Present-Day Transnational Diasporic Writing (Routledge, 2019), a special issue of Women: A Cultural Review ’We Too’: Female Voices in the Transnational Era of Crises, Migration, Pandemic and Climate Change'' (2023), The Routledge Companion to Literature and Crisis (co-edited with Chiara Battisti and Siliva Pellicer-Ortin, forthcoming 2024), articles e.g.,  ‘Disempowerment and Bodily Agency in Margaret Atwood’s The Testaments and The Handmaid’s Tale TV Series’ (The European Legacy 2021) and “Estonian literature and Ecofeminism” (with Kadri Tüür, Routledge 2022). Kuznetski is a member of ESSE, FINSSE, ASLE and a founding member of the gender studies research group at Tallinn University.
