Anthony Chiaviello, University of Houston-Downtown

Tony Chiaviello is an associate professor in the English Department at the University of Houston-Downtown, one of four component institutions in the UH system.  He earned his doctorate in rhetoric, with a focus on environment and geography, at New Mexico State University in 1998 and teaches in both the undergrad and graduate professional writing programs at UHD.  A veteran of the Vietnam War, in which he served as a photojournalist in the US Army Signal Corps, he graduated from Oberlin College on the GI Bill.  Prior to entering academia, Chiaviello worked in the trade publishing and high-tech public relations fields.
