Akshata Bhatt, DCT's Dhempe College of Arts and Science

Akshata A. Bhatt is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English, DCT’s Dhempe College (Autonomous), Goa India. She has been awarded PhD in the subject for her thesis titled, “Green Cultural Studies: Theoretical Perspectives, Textual Perceptions and Practical Applications”. She has also completed a UGC-funded Minor Research Project on ‘Ecological Consciousness in Goan Cultural Signifiers’. She has published papers/articles in peer reviewed books/journals and has presented papers at various international and national conferences. She is also a translator and has undertaken translation of short stories for children from Konkani (SL) to English (TL) as well as worked in the field as part of the People's Linguistic Survey of India. Her research interest is focused upon (but not limited to) Ecological Studies/Environmental Humanities, Semiotics, Translation and the role of language in cultural studies, etc.
