Irene Sanz obtained her PhD at the Franklin Institute of the University of Alcalá (Madrid, Spain) in 2014 with the dissertation on "Redefining Humanity in Science Fiction: the Alien from an Ecofeminist Perspective." She is member of GIECO, a Spanish research group on ecocriticism. She is also the Secretary in Ecozon@. Currently she works as an English teacher for the Spanish Ministry of Defense
