Valentina Graziuso, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Valentina Graziuso holds a Ph.D. in Romance Languages and Literatures from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she specialized in Modern and Contemporary Italian literature, with a focus on Environmental Humanities, gender studies, and ecocriticism. Her interdisciplinary research examines how women writers reconceptualize the human–nature relationship through ethical and ecological lenses. Among her forthcoming publications are a monograph examining the ecologies of care and spirituality in Anna Maria Ortese’s novels, as well as the articles "Migration, Ecology, and Environmental Ethics in 'Violazione' by Alessandra Sarchi", and "Epistemologie della terra e intelligenza delle piante: uno sguardo ecocritico su 'La nuova stagione' by Silvia Ballestra," forthcoming this year. In Fall 2026, Valentina will join the University of Notre Dame as an Assistant Teaching Professor of Italian.
