John S. Farnsworth is Lecturer in Environmental Writing and Literature in the Department of Environmental Studies and Sciences at Santa Clara University.  He holds an MFA from Antioch University, and MLA from Stanford University, and is currently working toward a PhD at the University of Stirling.  His research interests include environmental rhetoric, literary natural history, American nature writing, and the natural histories of Baja, Mexico.
