Author Biography

Raffaele Russo, University of Innsbruck

Raffaele Russo studied and taught in eight different cities: Naples, Perugia, Trieste, Trento, Como, Milan, Dublin, and lately Innsbruck. That’s why he uses to style himself as “clericus vagans.” In Perugia, he earned the doctorate in Philosophy of Religion, in Trento the doctorate in Philosophy and Human Sciences. In Trieste, he taught his first course of philosophy, on the empiricism of John Locke. He published mainly on Locke, utilitarianism, and environmental ethics. At the moment, he is working on an introduction to ecocriticism for students, titled Parole Verdi (Green Words), which is both presentation of the key concepts of ecocriticism and anthology of significant texts concerning the representation of nature in Italian literature. He is Lektor at the University of Innsbruck.
