Biografía del autor/a

Oliver Völker, Goethe-University Frankfurt, Department of Comparative Literature

Oliver Völker is a postdoctoral researcher at the department of Comparative Literature at Goethe University Frankfurt. He earned his Ph.D. with a study on the relationship between geological timescales and the poetics of the novel (Langsame Katastrophen: Eine Poetik der Erdgeschichte. Göttingen: Wallstein 2021). His research focuses on 19th-21st century-literature with regard to discourses on nature, the History of Science, the Anthropocene and the relationship between literature and the visual media. He has published widely on European Romanticism, Adalbert Stifter and Alfred Döblin. In his current project, he is working on hatred and misanthropy in the literature of the 17th and the 18th century.
