Author of Frnaics Bacon and Modernity (Yale 1986, Fischer 1989), Early Responses to Renaissance Drama (Cambridge 2006, winner of the Elizabeth Dietz Award for the best book in early modern studies, 2008).  Forthcoming, "Green Economics and Renaissance Literture: From Capital to the Commons," Shakespeare and the Urgency of Now, ed. DiPietro and Grady (Routledge 2013).  Member of ASLE.
