Abstract
When we talk about ecological art or about the relationship between art and ecology we are actually referring to a heterogeneous set of activities and artistic facts. Such lack of distinction easily leads to errors when ascribing some features to a specific art piece under the appellative of ecological. It also makes it more difficult to group them into publications, exhibitions, etc. Moreover, given the relevance of the current ecological crisis, a newer perspective, closer to the artist’s needs is necessary. This article revises the main disagreements of the theorists about this subject, while it also makes a critical analysis about the solutions and benefits this perspective offers to artists and theorists when addressing and legitimizing a work of art from an ecological perspective.
