Abstract

      This is a personal essay in which I reflect on the possibility of benevolent artificial intelligence using the figure of R2D2 from Star Wars.

Anthony Francis Lioi, The Juilliard School

Anthony Lioi is Associate Professor of Liberal Arts and English at the Juilliard School in New York City. He is the author of Nerd Ecology: Defending the Earth with Unpopular Culture (Bloomsbury Academic 2016). He is the outgoing co-president of ASLE: Association for the Study of Literature and Environment (USA).
